Embrace the Unexpected With Turks & Caicos Carnival-Related Festivals!

Carnival in the islands is one of those things that you should try at least once. And with dazzling costumes, hip-jerking beats and lots of exciting moments in store, we say why not? You don’t even need to jump with a costumed band to enjoy carnival events in the Caribbean, though many visitors say this is an experience worth trying simply for the connection it brings to the destination itself.

In the Turks & Caicos, carnival looks a lot like the annual Maskanoo and the Turks & Caicos Junkanoo Jump Up. These events are both held in the month of December and have been growing steadily over the years. We understand too well the allure of it all—the vibrant colors, pulsating rhythms, and infectious energy. The traditional and historical connections. These events are a wonderful way to get a taste of the islands.

The Essence of Turks and Caicos Carnival

Caribbean cultural extravaganzas in true form, the Junkanoo Jump Up and the Maskanoo Festival are major events in the Turks & Caicos. Both held in the month of December, people often call these events the carnivals of the Turks & Caicos. But though they share similarities with Caribbean carnivals, this territory does not have a dedicated carnival event. Even with that said, these festivals offer unique opportunities to embrace the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Let’s pause for a second before diving deeper. It’s important to put the Turks & Caicos into context as we explore. This destination is a tropical archipelago made up of over 40 different islands and cays. Events like the ones mentioned above highlight the destination’s unique culture and community spirit and attract thousands of visitors annually.

Most of the Maskanoo and Junkanoo festivities take place on Providenciales (Provo), the most populated island in the Turks & Caicos. As the festivals come to life in December, the streets light up with music, dance, and a kaleidoscope of colors. These December events are more than just a party – they’re all about bringing people together.

Historical Roots and Evolution

Junkanoo costumes

The roots of island carnivals go deep. In the Turks and Caicos, though it isn’t a traditional carnival event, the Junkanoo Jump Up is filled with African, European and Caribbean influences. This is much like other carnival events held in the Caribbean. As you explore the origins of this festival, you’ll be better able to appreciate the various elements you’re likely to come across while in the islands.

Junkanoo has grown tremendously over the years, both in scale and complexity. New elements have been added while core cultural values have largely been preserved. As part of its history and tradition, costumes typically have symbolic meanings, and this trend continues today. As storytelling and other oral traditions continue, right on stream with the fast pace of technology, the history of Turks & Caicos events like this continues to be preserved.

Maskanoo on the other hand, is just as historic. The event can be traced back to the early 19th century and is a way of honoring the African roots of the Turks & Caicos. Maskanoo is one of the most well known cultural festivals on this island and includes parades, costumed bands, live music, fireworks, street parties and more. This event is held annually in Grace Bay, Providenciales and it is a free public celebration.

Good to know: Local restaurants are usually busy in the month of December as this is peak season for the Turks & Caicos. Be sure to make reservations early if traveling around this time.

Key Events and Activities

During Maskanoo and the Junkanoo Jump Up in the Turks & Caicos, the event calendar is usually filled with exciting events. This ranges from lively shows and parades to cultural workshops and food festivals. Many of these events are family-friendly. If you’re planning to be in the islands in December, here’s a few events that you can attend:

Street Parades and Processions

The street parade known as “Maskanoo” is one of the main event highlights in the Turks & Caicos. Maskanoo comes to life on Grace Bay Road in Providenciales (between Regent Village and Salt Mills Plaza) on December 26 (Boxing Day). This event features costumes, colorful masks, local cuisine, and pulsating music. This much-anticipated event brings to life the Junkanoo and masquerade traditions of the Turks & Caicos.

Good to know: Apart from the main parade, there are many smaller events that take place at other locations in the Turks & Caicos during this time.

Music and Dance Performances

Music and dance are a big part of expressing island identity. And during the month of December when the Turks & Caicos has its closest celebration to carnival, this can most clearly be seen. As Maskanoo and the Junkanoo Jump Up come to life, you can expect to hear a blend of Caribbean rhythms and traditional music.

As Junkanoo traditionally is a celebration centered around freedom, the instruments and music reflect this. This can range from simple saws (from local hardware stores), to goat skin drums, hand-accordions (locally known as the constentina), hand-made maracas, and acoustic guitars. When these instruments come together, the end result is “Ripsaw Music” also known as “Rake ‘n’ Scrape”. These beats are unique and are created to keep the crowd moving, so don’t be shy about showing off your dance moves!

Good to know: When planning your Turks & Caicos vacation, it’s very important to be flexible. While most events unfold on schedule, sometimes there can be changes or you might find that you’re too tired to attend all the events you anticipated. Go with the flow and leave breathing room in your Turks & Caicos itinerary!

Food Festivals and Culinary Experiences

Turks & Caicos food

Your taste buds will appreciate the Turks & Caicos’ robust flavors, welcoming locals, and freshly sourced foods. And during the month of December as Turks & Caicos carnival-related events come to life, you’ll have a chance to experience this at some of the local events. Many of the events that pop up in December focus on showcasing the best island flavors. Some of the must-try dishes include conch fritters, jerk chicken, and johnnycakes. Many restaurants also offer special menus as part of the festivities, so that’s something to look out for as well.

While in the Turks & Caicos, you can also explore the local cuisine with a culinary tour. This entails exploring some of the best restaurants and food spots. Food tours like the Taste of TCI Food Tours last for about three hours, but some tours can be longer. There are sometimes 4-6 stops included in food tours. These make it possible to learn about local customs and discover traditional Turks and Caicos food. The best Turks & Caicos food tours include a guide and transportation. If you're not up for a food tour, make some time to explore these Turks & Caicos restaurants during your stay at Beaches Resorts.

Good to know: Culinary tourism has a huge economic impact. In the Turks & Caicos, there are lots of food-related events that you can attend. Some focus on traditional Turks and Caicos cuisine with live music and storytelling mixed in!

Planning Your Turks & Caicos Experience

As with any other carnival related trip to the islands, planning is key. Things like booking flights, securing accommodation and transportation, and selecting events are among the first things you'll need to decide. And, as long as you get your dates right, you can look forward to a lively and fun-filled time in the Turks & Caicos.

Dates and Schedule

Turks & Caicos Junkanoo Jump Up typically takes place in December, on New Year’s Eve. This festival features parades with participants in elaborate costumes, accomoanied by traditional music and dance, marking the island’s African Heritage.
The Maskanoo Festival on the other hand is held on December 26 (Boxing Day). This is a lively street event that blends masquerade tradition with Bahamian style Junkanoo. Attendees enjoy colorful parades, live music, local food vendors, and fireworks along Grace Bay Road.

With both events, there are usually fringe events happening before and after the festivities.

Must-Attend Events

Turks & Caicos festivals like the Junkanoo and Maskanoo events
In the weeks leading up to Maskanoo and the Junkanoo Jump up, costume making workshops and dance classes sometimes get underway at select locations. Parties start to pick up as the event nears as well. As Junkanoo unfolds, one of the events you might want to check out is the Island Fish Fry. This event features over a dozen restaurants and souvenir vendors, a live band and cultural performances. Though this Fish Fry happens every Thursday in Bight, the special Junkanoo Fish Fry is unique as it ends in a vibrant masquerade.

Once things come to a close, activities on island are more relaxed. You can still look out for other events like beach parties, boat rides, and embark on local tours. Many visitors say that post-Junkanoo activities are a good way to get a last dose of fun before going back to life as usual!

Festival Costumes in the Turks & Caicos

carnival costumes

If you plan on jumping carnival in Turks & Caicos, your best bet is heading there for the Junkanoo Jump Up held in December. Costumes for this event are less carnival-esque and more traditional. In the past, these came to life with cardboard and crepe paper, old clothing ripped into specific artistic patterns, all with lots of color. Dazzling glitter and beads were tossed in, and that was what revelers wore. Today the costumes are similar, with some modern touches.

If you’re feeling creative, while in the Turks & Caicos you can attend workshops to make your own carnival costume. This can help you to get a better understanding of the effort it takes to create these costumes. Plus, you’ll have your own costume to wear to take in the festivities or just bring home as a souvenir. The Junkanoo Museum (Old Airport Road, Providenciales) in the Turks & Caicos is a great place to learn more about the traditional costumes associated with this event.

Workshops and Classes

While in the Turks & Caicos, look out for events that can help you to get a clearer view of the local culture. This can include dance lessons, mask-making sessions, or even cooking classes with an emphasis on local cuisine. Attending classes and workshops like these can enhance your experience by getting you exposed to even more of the local culture.

Cultural Etiquette and Safety

Carnival in many other places can seem like a time to just be wild and free, but this isn’t really the case in the Turks & Caicos. Sure, people party to celebrate the freedom that comes with the December events, but it’s mostly kept to a certain level. Largely, locals respect the traditional elements of festivals like Junkanoo and Maskanoo. As you explore, be respectful when it comes to local customs and traditions. After all, you’re a guest, and this very well might be a cultural experience you’re experiencing for the first time.

As you make your way around, you might very well notice that there’s a delicate balance between maintaining traditional practices and ensuring visitor comfort, and that really is something to be commended. Make the most of the festivities and follow basic safety precautions.

How to Maximize Comfort in the Islands

Family on Caribbean vacation

Turks & Caicos carnival-related events and festivals are generally considered to be safe. During the December festivals, there is typically the implementation of targeted measures for the hosting of large-scale events. Often, this can mean increased police presence at major events and other precautions. While in the islands, here's a few more ways you can keep safe:

Stay hydrated - Turks & Caicos generally has warm weather year-round. Being outdoors for a prolonged period should be done with caution in mind. Drink lots of water! As you explore, bring along a water bottle that you can refill and cash to purchase more water if needed.

Stay cool - As there can be large crowds at some daytime events, you may need to make additional efforts to stay cool. Many people walk with their own portable fans and extra batteries for this reason.

Consider wearable technology – Wearable technology can be a good option for personal safety and health monitoring. Consider bringing an item that isn’t too bulky and also waterproof with you when you head out and about.

Mother and daughter in pool

Wear sunscreen – Protect yourself from sunburn by ensuring you pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Ensure your sunscreen is adequate for the weather and reapply as needed.

Bring bug repellant – As some Junkanoo-related events in the Turks & Caicos happen at night, pack some bug repellent that you’ll be able to use during your trip.

Stay in familiar areas – To avoid getting lost, stick to areas you're familiar with while in the Turks & Caicos. If you want to extend your explorations beyond your resort, book a guided tour with a reputable local company.

Beyond Carnival: Exploring Turks and Caicos

family on beach

Though getting to be part of festivals and carnival-related events in the Turks & Caicos can be exciting on its own, there’s much more to see. In fact, many people visit for carnival and extend their trip to take in more of the island. This includes the world-class beaches and exciting water activities. Here’s some of the not-to-be-missed highlights:

Awe-inspiring Beaches

Turks & Caicos Beach

Go from high energy to total serenity by exploring the beaches in Turks & Caicos. There are lots of excellent beach spots to choose from in this territory whether you’re looking for activity packed locations like Grace Bay Beach or secluded coves like Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay. Day trips to beaches in Middle Caicos or Salt Cay can also be worth it if you want to see all the islands have to offer on the beach scene. Visits to these islands can be arranged through the various tour companies in the Turks & Caicos.

Grace Bay Beach

Kids playing on Turks & Caicos beach

Relaxing on glistening shores is an excellent way to wind down. And there’s no better place to do this than at Grace Bay Beach. This beach has in the past been voted one of the best beaches in the world and once you get there, you’ll immediately see why. This is likely the beach you’ve always envisioned, where you can simply lounge on powdery white sands and admire crystal-clear turquoise waters. Dive right in for a swim or get into watersports. You can also dine at nearby local restaurants or get a cocktail from one of the beach bars. With some of the best all-inclusive resorts in the Turks & Caicos located on this beach, there’s lots to look forward to on Grace Bay Beach.

Good to know: Many of the tour operators in the Turks & Caicos offer combination tours and excursions that bring together the best of multiple attractions and activities. This is a wonderful way to make the most of your time in the islands.

Water Activities and Excursions

Kids jumping into pool

The Turks & Caicos is absolutely that destination where you can enjoy a family vacation filled with lots of activities in and out of the water. If you want to spend as much time as possible in the ocean, then you’ll have a range of activities and excursions to choose from. From snorkeling and diving to sailing and fishing, here’s some of the most popular activities in the islands:

Snorkeling and Scuba Diving

Smith's Reef Turks & Caicos

Snorkeling and scuba diving in the Turks & Caicos is an experience that simply should not be missed. This is one of the best places to dive in the Caribbean. The reefs around these islands are teeming with marine life, and because there are just so many islands, there’s no short supply of dive sites. Some well-known dive spots near the islands include Smith’s Reef and Bight Reef. Both dive sites are accessible from the shore. More experienced divers might enjoy wall diving along the edges of the Caicos Islands. This area is famous for its dramatic underwater landscapes.

There has been lots of development on the local dive scene beyond just diving and discovering amazing sites. For instance, the implementation of coral restoration projects to maintain reef health is ongoing and there has also been progress in the area of citizen science programs. This development means that divers are now able to contribute to marine research. While in the Turks & Caicos, you can learn more about this as you explore the magic of the underwater world.

Father and son snorkeling

Expert Tip: For a dive session like no other in the Caribbean, visit the Grand Turk Wall. This dive site is known as the Grand Canyon of the Caribbean, and it is a huge underwater cliff that drops off 7,000 feet just off the coast of Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands. If you don’t have enough time left for your vacation after the carnival festivities are done, consider extending your trip to take in attractions like these which are true natural wonders.

Island Hopping Tours

people swimming near boat

Island hopping is something that just happens when you’re in a destination like the Turks & Caicos. Often, this doesn’t take much planning at all as many people just seem to navigate around the islands at whim as boating is part of the culture of the islands. For your vacation though, you might want to take some time to plan your boat trips, so you don’t miss out on the best spots.

In terms of what you’ll see, keep in mind that though the Turks & Caicos islands are similar in many ways, each is diverse. You can book a day trip to some of the uninhabited islands or even just one if you’re short on time with one of the local tour operators. There, you’ll be able to explore even more beaches and some remote islands. Many boat tours include stops for snorkeling, beachcombing, and wildlife spotting.

Turks & Caicos Souvenirs and Memorabilia

Turks & Caicos souvenirs

The thrill of new experiences is what Caribbean vacations are all about. That and being able to take a little piece of the islands home with you when it’s all though. Whether your handmade Junkanoo costume is souvenir enough for you or you want something more substantial, here’s what you can consider taking home with you once your vacation is through:

Artisan Crafts and Local Art

Much like other Caribbean islands, there’s more than just music and costumes on display during the Junkanoo Jump Up and Maskanoo in the Turks & Caicos. And once the celebrations come to an end, you can discover unique souvenirs at many of the local markets and shops. These items can range from hand-crafted masks to vibrant paintings, some even depicting Junkanoo scenes. At some events, you might even be able to pick up some unique pieces at artisan stalls. These also make it possible to meet the creators themselves and learn about the inspiration behind their work.

Live Photography

Another simple but fun way to capture your Turks & Caicos moments is with photos. During events like Junkanoo or Maskanoo in the Turks & Caicos, it won’t be hard finding a talented photographer to help you capture the moments. You can also hire your own photographer, but even if you don’t there’s likely to be a few roving photographers at major events. Just take their contact information and make arrangements to place an order for photos. If you come across any of these photographers, you may also be able to set up a spur of the moment photoshoot that's sure to be memorable!

Some of our destination weddings

Kate and Curtis - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Sandals Grande, St. Lucia, Large Group, Destination Wedding

I wanted to share (with permission) these gorgeous pictures from a destination wedding 2 weekends ago we had the privilege of being a part of and booked by Lia. She chose this over the water wedding chapel in St. Lucia with friends and family there to help celebrate. I love her flower crown and her dress and how happy she is. Picture perfect. Congratulations Kate and Curtis! We are so happy for you!

Michael and Shawana Rowles - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Beaches Resort, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Destination Wedding

Lia was very helpful for us in planning our destination wedding to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We had gone through a few other travel planners first who didn't seem nearly as interested in our needs. We really appreciated the way Lia helped us navigate through some of the complexities, including the local laws of Jamaica and the planning with the resort itself. Even once we got to the resort and ran into a few snags, Lia was able to quickly get those resolved very quickly. We would highly recommend her for anyone planning a destination wedding or any other vacation. Thanks, Lia, for making our destination wedding the most special day of our lives.

Julie and Chieu Vu - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Playa Del Carmen, Large Group, Destination Wedding

Wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming, but if you're planning on having a destination wedding, especially with a large group, I would highly recommend using All Inclusive Weddings!

From beginning to end, they help with every step; i.e., finding the venue, creating a custom wedding website, and booking all your guests. Their office manager, Linze, was very responsive, helpful, and so sweet! Everything turned out smoothly and we couldn't be happier!

Stephanie was our incredible travel agent for our destination wedding! She helped with every aspect, quick communication and AMAZING coordination with over 50 different people over 8 states. Stephanie from the beginning, gave options and talked through so many questions I had. I could not have asked for a better right hand woman! 10 out of 10 for Steph, we could not appreciate & trust her more!

Leah and Kell Flynn - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Royalton Blue Waters, Montego Bay, Jamaica, Destination Wedding

My husband and I worked with the company's owner, Lia Vincent, and office manager, Linze.

Lia & Linze were both very warm and friendly, and from day one, we could tell cared about us as a couple and our destination wedding success, rather than just seeing us as more clients. I get stressed out easily, so planning my own wedding alone was overwhelming, even though my wedding was 10 months out. I ended up working with Linze, and we pushed up the wedding date with a little less than three months to prepare. I was initially nervous about using a travel agent / wedding planner, but it turned out to be a huge blessing, because it took away a lot of the stress and worry I was experiencing. A bride has so many things to worry about, so having someone else bear the brunt of the work and worry about the nitty-gritty details was a HUGE relief for me.

Why spend hours analyzing vendors and reading reviews, when you can have a pro do it? If you want an intimate wedding, if you want to elope, or if you want a huge all-out, go-into-debt-for-years wedding, and if you're in the market for a wedding travel agent, Lia and Linze should be at the top of your list!

The day of the wedding, everything was so beautiful, and so much better than I could have done on my own. Lia's company finds the best local vendors, so you know you'll get great value in your package, and what's nice is her company offers different packages for different budgets. We worked with and met AMAZING vendors! The reception was so elegant that as soon as I entered the reception, I felt amazement, joy, and relief because being the worrywart and control freak that I sometimes can be, it was hard for me to trust someone to somehow make everything perfect. Lia was able to give us the dream wedding we couldn't have done ourselves. Our family and friends were also amazed, and repeatedly told us how great the wedding, reception, and food were at the resort.

Puerto Vallarta wedding travel agent
Darby Brown - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Destination Wedding

I used Stephanie Tindall to help me choose the perfect resort in PV Mexico for where my guests would stay for my destination wedding. She went round and round with me helping me find the perfect location. It had to be nice, trendy, not to outrageously expensive and within a certain mile radius of a marina where my guests needed to go for the wedding. She helped everyone get booked and when things became a little hectic as tracking sometimes can get. She took care of the details. One of my guests had passport issues and she helped talk them through what to do. It was such a relief to have a point of contact for travel related issues so I didn't have to be stressed about it. She did this all with a patient, positive? upbeat and kind attitude through the entire process. I highly recommend her.
Thank you again, Darby Brown

Juliet D. - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
UNICO, Riviera Maya, Mexico Destination Wedding

Unico was wonderful and the perfect place for our wedding! It was quiet and the ceremony was better than expected. We had it on the gazebo and it was away from everything, which was great. The photography was beyond our expectations. We have not received our video yet, but assume it will be just as great. I also used the in house vendor for make up and hair, and was not disappointed. The wedding coordinator, Nazareth, was so sweet and on point. We used the local host quite a bit with WhatsApp, which was quite convenient. Food and drinks were amazing. We were disappointed that 2087 restaurant was down for half of our stay for repairs. We ate at Mi Carisa on our wedding night, which was the perfect choice. Service was also best there. We scheduled 2 tours through the hotel, a sunset cruise and Chichen Itza express. The boat tour was nice. Chichen itza tour was too fast and ok. We really appreciate your recommendations and help booking our wedding and stay. It was wonderful! Thank you again, Juliet and Jason

SECRETS PLAYA MUJERES destination wedding review
Vivian and James Chevrier - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Secrets Playa Mujeres, Mexico, Destination Wedding

I have never used a travel agent before Lia. I have always been the "I can do everything cheaper by myself on the internet" type person; most of the time, it works great. When my husband and I decided to have a destination wedding, we were not sure about anything - number of guests, length of stay, etc; we also have very demanding jobs, requiring constant travels up until the week before our wedding. So we thought that a travel agent may be a lifesaver; as it turned out, she was. Lia was endorsed as an expert in destination weddings on the American Express Travel website. Although she lived over a 1,000 miles away, I felt comfortable.

As I am not a "girly" person, wedding planning was not my thing; however, party planning and event coordination are. Lia and I treated this "event" like a business and I loved that about her; I needed someone to be truthful and provide honest advice. As it is with my job, I like corresponding via emails because I can have all the information on hand and in writing at all time; Lia always accommodated that, and always very promptly. I'm not talking about several emails over a few months; I'm talking about over the course of over a year. Lia was there to provide support when I had a hard time reach the wedding coordinator; she was there when I freaked out at the resort regarding my brother's return transportation (as it turned out, my brother spoke with the wrong transportation company); she was organized to be able to provide me with spreadsheet of all guest arrival information; she always submitted my requests to Classic Vacation and the resort promptly. James and I cannot thank Lia enough to make everything go smoothly for the biggest event of our lives. All 48 of us had such a great time that we absolutely see another group vacation in the future.

Lia being referred to me saved me so much wedding planning mental anguish! I had tried with a few other travel agents before I had two different people give me Lia's name, and with each of the previous TAs they had to look into things and call me back (I'm still waiting for those calls). Getting in touch with Lia was a whole new experience, she answered all my initial questions in that first phone call, had so many recommendations, and it was obvious she knew exactly what she was doing. By the time we hung up the first phone call, I had decided on a destination and venue (per Lia's suggestion). She was a God send! A year later, we are still having people talk about what a great trip it was and people are always amazed by what a great turn out we had. We ended up with about 60 people, all booking through Lia and everyone had a flawless experience. One even asked for her name when planning her destination wedding a few months later and was just as pleased! Lia told me a lot through the planning process that I was such a laid-back bride, but it really was because she left me nothing to worry about. She answered any question I had, was always quick to respond to calls and emails, and helped me plan the most perfect wedding ever. I wish I could re-live it all again!!

My husband Cameron and I got married at the Cozumel Palace in June of 2014 and could not have been more happy with our experience. A destination wedding was definitely the way to go for us and Lia was a great asset in our planning.

Throughout the process we felt completely at ease as she handled some of the most important details of planning for this special time. From her first recommendations of resorts and destinations to her help arranging travel for our closest family and friends we always felt grateful having Lia on our side. We highly recommend Lia Vincent and Palace Resorts for your destination wedding!

Our Dream Wedding!

Lia was a phenomenal help from the beginning. She was referred to me by a friend, and I was incredibly thankful that we used her. When we started planning, we became overwhelmed with all of the information that is available.

We met with her for about 45 minutes one afternoon, took her pictures of spaces we had seen online and liked, and gave her a list of our "must-haves", a list of things that would be nice but didn't matter too much, and a list of things we absolutely did NOT want. She kind of thought about things for a minute, and then listed 3 resorts that fit every single one of our needs. She then ran sample pricing from EVERY location our guests would be traveling from so we could figure out what best fit our and our guests' travel budgets. After about a million more questions from me, we finally settled on her initial recommendation, the Beach Palace in Cancun. As we went through the process, any time I had a question, problem, or was just worried about something not being right, she was my go-to person. I'm not kidding, she would answer me in like, less than an hour 99% of the time. She even took my file home one weekend to give me more time to figure something out before she ran credit cards and got it booked. She was a Godsend!

Riu Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico, Destination Wedding

My husband Cameron and I got married at the Cozumel Palace in June of 2014 and could not have been more happy with our experience. A destination wedding was definitely the way to go for us and Lia was a great asset in our planning.

Lia with Lia helped us plan our destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We had a total of 11 people and she helped each of them set up their arrangements. From the beginning she was so helpful and always quick to respond. She made the entire process a breeze. She communicated with the wedding coordinator at the Riu Palace and made sure everything was just like we wanted. We did not have any issues at all, thanks to Lia and all of her thorough planning. Each of our guests bragged on her and said how easy it was to work with her. I would recommend Lia for all of your planning needs whether it be just a short vacation or a destination wedding. She knows what she is doing and will make sure all of your questions are answered and that you have the best vacation.

Our Dream Wedding!

As soon as Jimmy asked me to marry him, I knew we would want a destination wedding. We love to travel, and we love the beach, so there was no more perfect place to start our lives together than a beach in Mexico!

I am not the wedding planning type, and I knew that with a destination wedding, we could get someone else to plan the details for us. Luckily for me, my friend Lia at Vincent Vacations specializes in Destination Weddings. Lia had taken care of trips for us in the past, and I knew she was the perfect person to help me plan this trip. I was right! She helped me look through destinations, and we found the perfect spot: Dreams in Puerto Vallarta! The package came with a wedding planner, who took care of the details for me. 21 of our friends and family came with us, and everyone loved the resort. Our party ranged in age from 7 to 82, and everyone agreed it was an amazing trip. There were activities for the kids, and plenty of excursions for everyone to choose from. The staff was wonderful, and pampered us from the time we arrived. One of my bridesmaids had a broken foot and was on crutches, and was in a wheelchair some. The hotel staff assisted her anytime she needed it, including carrying her and her wheelchair up and down large flights of stairs. They were amazing! All the rooms are ocean front, with beautiful views. Jimmy and I stayed in the "Preferred" tower, and our room came with a great balcony with a hot tub! Most of our guests stayed in the other tower, but the resort is small enough, this was not a problem at all. They all loved their rooms as well. The wedding planner met with me in advance to work out the last minute details and timing. When our wedding day came, everything went perfectly. We got married on the beach right in front of the ocean. We had a sound system and a dj who played all the songs that we picked out in advance. My Dad is a minister, and he performed the service for us. We had 21 in our wedding party, but it felt like a much bigger wedding because lots of people watched the wedding. You could see people everywhere on their balconies watching, which made us feel like rock stars. We had a Mexican band that played a few songs after the wedding. The wedding came with a photographer and videographer who did amazing job! We took pictures right after the wedding, then we had dinner which also came with the wedding. We had steak and chicken which tasted great. Of course, I also asked them for chips and guacamole. (I love the guacamole in Mexico.) They were happy to oblige. They provided the wedding cake after which was amazing. After the wedding, my husband and I stayed for another 4 days, and it was paradise. I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to get married, or a less stressful way to do it. Thanks Lia and Vincent Vacations for making our special day an amazingly unforgettable experience!

This was the best and easiest decision we made about our entire wedding! Lia at All Inclusive Weddings is the absolute best, extremely intelligent, hard working, and so caring. She truly makes you feel like you are her only client throughout the entire process. We had about 120 people coming to our Cabo wedding and even had to switch resorts, visitors coming from all different states and even Europe. She was calm, and kept the bride and groom calm! Every detail was taken care of and it was made to be the most perfect wedding!

Tiffany Phillips - All Inclusive Beach Wedding
Finest, Playa Mujeres, Mexico, Destination Wedding

I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work to arrange the hotel and transfers for Ashley and Robbie's wedding. It was perfect and everything that she had ever dreamed of! The resort was amazing! We had great food at all the restaurants. The staff went over the top to accommodate any needs that you could have had! Everyone felt safe and the beaches are beautiful. Since it's more private you don't get the crazy vendors walking the beach trying to sell you stuff. Our family loved it so much and we defiantly will be planning another vacation. You will be the first I call if we need help to organize something! Thank you again for everything
