Our Story
Note from the Bride and Groom
From online dating to a magical first date in Chicago to Todd moving from Colorado to Oklahoma, life has taken us completely by surprise.
We met online on New Year’s Eve when we found one another on a dating app called Bumble. Emily was visiting Colorado and Bumble matched us even though we both agree the distance should have been too far away for us to match. We’ve since decided fate wanted us together. We both thought in our heads that it wasn’t going to work but we are both so nice we kept talking to each other. We kept having more and more in common and we were really enjoying the conversations we were having. After a couple of days talking online — we still hadn’t talked on the phone and didn’t know one another’s last name — Emily mentioned she loved to travel and that she was tempted to hop on a plane to Chicago to go see the musical Hamilton. So Todd said without hesitation if you go, I’ll go too and we can make it our first date. Emily said yes and so, within five minutes, we both had plane tickets and tickets to Hamilton. For both of us, Chicago was magical and led us to really putting in the effort to see one another. Todd knew within a minute of meeting Emily that she was the one. Emily admits now that she kept trying to talk herself out of it but she knew too.
We have made so many amazing adventures together — in addition to seeing each other in Colorado and Oklahoma, we traveled to Nashville, Tennessee; Dallas, Texas; and the southwest United States including Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Las Vegas, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend. One of our common goals is to see as much of the world as we can leading us to book a trip to Prague in December to see Christmas markets together. More importantly our journey led Todd to propose July 14 on top of the Wheeler Ferris Wheel which is Emily’s favorite place in Oklahoma City and Todd to move to Oklahoma City to begin life together! What a journey its been!
And we invite you on this journey with us! We will be getting married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on May 3, 2020 and we hope you are able to join us to help contribute to our growing love story!
